Hello all,

According to http://www.luchtvaartnieuws.nl/news/?ID=24188 the well-known
spotters viewing area along the 06-24 Kaagbaan runway will be closed off
for good on the morning of Saturday the 26th of January 2008 at 07.00 hrs.

That means this weekend will be the last, last, last weekend that you will
be able to photograph (freighter) aircraft taxiing to or from the Sierra
platform!
Also picturing aircraft landing at or taking off from runway 06-24/24-06
will become much more difficult in about nine days time...

A temporary new viewing area along the Polderbaan 18R/360L will be opened
on the same day the entrance roads to the old spotters place will be
fenced off. It remains to be seen whether this new spot or the planned
permanent facility planned along the Polderbaan will become as popular as
the old vantage point just east of the Kaagbaan...

For many local Dutch aviation photographers truly the end of an era...

Regards
Erik Jan Hartman
